Vous trouverez ci-dessous les instructions générales pour le déroulement des cours d'anglais en master.
Information concerning the classes S2 2223
The English classes in Master's programme are different from the Licence one. Instead of having class every week students will do 3 interviews of 30 minutes over the semester in groups of 2/3. Barbara Robinson will post the schedule on the school website two weeks before the beginning of each session so please look at the EXTRANET. Please note down when exactly you need to be present. We will be using continuous assessment. In other words, there is no exam at the end of the semester.
For the sessions 1-3, you will need to read articles or watch videos or a mix of both. You will then come to your interview session and present the texts and/or videos. There will be a short discussion session with your classmates after the presentations of the different articles where you can react to the article, what other students have said, and answer any questions that your teacher may ask you. Please note that the mark is individua
Session 2 :
You will be given two documents for this session(two texts or one text and a video). In addition to the two documents sent, you have to choose anotherarticle(nota video or TED Talk) and prepare a PowerPoint presentation with the main points of the article(no just pictures). You will present this article to your teacher and classmates during the interview. Should you present a video, you will be penalised heavily(- 3 points)and failure to present a third article and prepare a Powerpoint thereof will result in a heavy penality as well(-5 points). You will need to hand in a copy of the article to your teacher
Session 3:
For this session, you have to will read a book in English. The book needs to be 200 pages minimum and published after2010. It should be a work of prose and no poetry anthologies will be accepted. It should also be a work of fiction. Should you decide to choose a book that falls in the category of non-fiction, you will need your teacher’s approval. All book titles are to be given to teachers by the end ofsession 2.
You have to prepare a 10-minutepdf presentation in which you will explain:
1. Why you chose the book.
2. Which characters you preferred and why./What aspects of the book did you appreciate.
3. What you thought of it.
4. Whether or not you would recommend it to a friend(s) etc.
Some practical information
1. If you are absent for your interviews you need to send a justification via e-mail (medical certificate etc. See school rules)toscolaritéwithin 48 hours of your absence. Do not send the e-mail directly to the teachers. Everything goes throughscolaritéconcerning absences.
2. If your absence isjustified, and accepted by the administration, you will be allowed to do a ‘rattrapage’ at the end of the semester. No ‘ à la carte’ sessions or marking will be done.
3. In the event that you do need to communicate with a teacherfor reasons other than an absence, you are kindly requested to do so using the school e-mail address and not via Teams. Anymessagesent via Teams will not be taken into account.
